Modes of learning: classroom, distance, and online

Here at h&h Accredited Training, we offer a variety of ways to study and gain qualifications. Whether you prefer traditional classroom learning or want to take advantage of paper-based distance or online learning, h&h can offer it all. Here’s an inside look at the different modes of learning:

  1. Classroom

Learning in a classroom with qualified trainers who guide you through quality learning and assessments is what’s often called a “full delivery model”. This means the trainer teaches all the content to a small group of students. At h&h Accredited Training, we limit our classrooms to groups of 15-20 to ensure everyone gets the attention they deserve.

Our classes always blend practical, hands-on learning with theory and knowledge. We also make our assessments as interactive as possible to accommodate various learning styles.

We offer a range of Saturday classes to help students balance childcare or work commitments alongside classes throughout the week. For those in the classroom mode, we also make assessment and learning guides available through our online portal so students can catch up if they miss a class or want to revise outside of class.

  1. Online learning

Online learning is ideal for individuals with the discipline and motivation to study independently and at their own pace. h&h Accredited Training provides students access to our digital learning system, which includes detailed learner guides and information for each unit, allowing students to learn at their own pace. Students then submit their assessment through the same portal, which can be a mix of short question and answer, multiple choice, long form responses, projects and role plays, depending on the units. However, even though it is self-paced, you are not alone when you learn online with h&h Accredited Training. You will have a dedicated trainer who is there with you the whole time. You can email or call them with questions and join Zoom sessions to ask questions and better understand the content. Many of our qualifications also require students to demonstrate skills that require them to come to campus for specific sessions, which is a great way to show your knowledge and practice skills you will need in the workforce.

  1. Distance learning – freedom and flexibility

Distance education, also known as learning through correspondence, is similar to online learning in that it is self-paced, but we provide all materials in printed form to allow you to study at home if you feel more comfortable learning on paper rather than a computer. In this mode, we print off and send you materials as well as assessment books to be completed and sent back to the college for marking. Again, you are not alone when you choose distance learning – you will have a dedicated trainer that you can reach out to at any point for help and who will check in with you regularly to monitor progress and answer questions. As with online, many of our courses will have opportunities for you to come onto our campus to demonstrate your skills and learn how to use equipment that you will see in the workplace.

We believe it’s crucial to offer a variety of delivery modes to help students fit their qualifications into their busy lives. Along with flexible learning options, we also support students in switching between the different modes as required by their needs.
